Brittany Monaghan is the Assistant Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the TRIO community, Brittany was a high school history teacher. She loved her time as a teacher but wanted to try something in the realm of higher education. Brittany's introduction to TRIO programs began at the University of Rochester where she worked as an advisor for Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search. She is excited to now be a part of the SSS team at Pitt!
She received a bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University in History & Secondary Education and a master's degree from Gwynedd Mercy University in Education. She feels most fulfilled when she is able to build connections with students and help them reach their goals. Brittany enjoys cooking, reading mystery and historical fiction novels, and cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
